MTDC - Welding Academy

MTDC – Welding Academy is currently under construction in Syria. Once completed, it will offer welder training and welder performance qualification testing based on international standards

We are seeking an experienced AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team as an AWS Qualifier on a per-job / on-demand basis. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the founding team of MTDC – Welding Academy, helping shape the academy’s welder performance qualification testing activities from the ground up.

Location: Homs, Syria – travel required (expenses fully covered).

Key Requirements

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – mandatory
• WPQ1 endorsement (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
• 5–8 years of experience in welding inspection / welding
• Previous experience as an AWS ATF Qualifier highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of AWS codes, testing procedures, and documentation
• Ability to conduct tests independently and in strict compliance with AWS standards
• NDT skills are highly preferred

Languages

• English – mandatory
• Arabic – preferred
